Hello 9-05. Today i didn't really take good notes today but Ill type what i have down. So today in class we started giving back our foldables which alot of us including me didn't hand in yet. I then Mr. Backe yelled at us and blah blah blah... Okay well after that we talked about our homework on 8.1. Then most of the class he th0ught us things that i think were new things unless I am mistaken. Anyways I didnt get what Joseph said about the recirpical but i got this stuff. I hope you understand... Enjoy!!!

One of the questions he gave us too solve is....

ax+b=c .

I cant really show how to work it out but what you do is divide both by "A" and minus "C" by "B".

it should look like this...

ax=c-b
__ __ x=c-b
a . a . __
. a

The dots are here^^ because I can't move it over without anything there.
Sorry if its really bad!

Today in class we started off by playing "Save the Zogs". I think this actuly helps you with linear relations and all those things. I was playing last night and i got really bored. I think i went up too level 7 then i just went to sleep. We eneded up playing it in class with backe anyways so that was fine. I have some trouble with this stuff but it looks pretty easy to understand. I dont think if we have a test ill fail it. I should do fine and maybe close to a 80%. haha! yeah right!!

Hello 9-05!In the start of today's class we talked about the homework. After that Me and Rinorm didn't get anything he was saying so we asked about what a Scale Factor is.What Reduction meant and what enlargement meant.

Scale Factor-Is the Number you multiply the original number by to get an enlargement.

Reduction-A reduction has to have a scale factor greater than one but less than zero.

Enlargement-Is anything greater than one.

Mr.Backe gave us a sheet of paper with a bunch of shapes looking like a person. We had to make the original figure then enlarge it by two. The original looked like this.

Uhmm I couldn't upload any pictures.Sorry!! Ill go back in the near future and put them in next time I have a chance.okay?Well sorry about that.

Homework:The sheet that has all those things on it.yeah that.so have fun.Oh yeah!the next scribe is....Hmmm..Dean Sauddin!!haha just because you sit beside me.PEACE!

Question Number 13

Thursday, November 26, 2009

Hey 9-05,sorry for the latness.I just got home.I just want to get out that GOODLUCK to all volleyball teams this weekend and next weekend and lets hope you win!The question for homework I'm doing is question 13. The question is...

The diameter of Pluto is 6/17 the diameter of Mars.Mars is 17/300 the diameter of Saturn.
A)What fraction of the diameter of Saturn is the diameter of Pluto?
B)The diameter of Saturn is 120 00 km.What is the diameter of Pluto?

A) In order to get your answer you need take the diameter of Mars and the diameter of pluto and multiply them together then simplify to the lowest answer possible.
B) In order to get the answer for this question you'll need to take the answer 1/5 and multiply it by 120,000 and you'll get your answer.

A)6/17 * 17/300=102/5100=1/50
B)1/50(120 000)=2400km

Pluto has a diameter of 2400 km.

Hey class, sorry that this is late. I had a lot to do this week regarding volleyball and other stuff. This is what hat did on November 17.First of all we corrected homework that we did the day before. After we learned about the big word known as a RECIPROCAL.A reciprocal is two factors that when multiplied will give the product of one. Examples are...

5/11(11/5)=1

(2/3)(3/2)=1

(-4/5)(-5/4)=1

All of those are reciprocals.

Also we learned about the Identity of One.The Identity of One is any number divided/multiplied by 1 is itself.Examples are...

17/1=17

6.432/1=6.432

Then Mr.Backe gave us this question out of the blue...

1/2 / 3/4= 1/2 * 4/3
= 4/6
= 2/3

These are steps of dividing fractions..
1)Find the Reciprocal of the divisor
2)Multiply both fractions by the reciprocal of the divisor
3)The divisor becomes 1.Anything divided by 1 is itself.
4)Simplify if possible.

Thank you for reading my very late scribe post and again sorry for it being late. Well enjoy and leave many comments Please.

Question Number 23

Saturday, November 7, 2009
Hey 9-05. Sorry this is late. I had a volleyball tourney yesterday and i didn't do it. Her es question number 23 for you guys who don't understand it. The question was...One week in October in Iqaluit, Nunavut, the daily high temperatures were -4.6°C, -0.5°C, 1.2°C, 2.3°C, -1.1°C, 1.5°C, -3.0°C. What was the mean daily high temperatures for that week?

Step One: Order all your numbers or decimals into ascending order.

Step Two:Add them all together.

Step Three:Divided your answer by the amount of numbers seen in the equation.

Once you have done all these steps it should look like this...

-4.6,-3.0,-1.1,-0.5,1.2,1.5,2.3,=-4.2

Then you divide 4.2/7

Your answer will come out too..... -0.6

Sorry this is so late. Agin I had a volleybal tourney and I could only do this now. PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS!!!
