Textbook Question #24

Friday, November 6, 2009
Hello everybody,
Today I will be explaining Question #24 in our textbooks.

The question is "Copy and Complete each statement".

*What you need to do for this question is you have to fill in the purple squares with a number.

For #1
To figure this question out you have to:
Subtract (-3.5) - 1.8 , which will give you an answer of -5.3.
To verify that you put in -5.3, where the square is and you should get the answer given in the question.
The question after you have filled in the answer, should look like this, (-5.3) + 1.8 = -3.5.

For # 2
First you need to subtract (-13.3) by (-8.9), which will give you an answer of -4.4
To verify that you put in -4.4, where the square is and you should get the answer given in the question.
The question after you have filled in the answer, should look like this, (-13.3) - (-4.4) = -8.9

For #3
First you need to figure out what multiplied by (-4.5) gives you -9.45. To do that you need to find out a certain number, and we all know that 2 × -4.5 = -9, so to get to
-9.45 you need to go 2.1 × -4.5, which will give you the answer of -9.45.
The question after you have filled in the answer, should look like this, 2.1 × -4.5 = -9.45.

For #4

First you need to divide -18.5 by 7.4, which will give you an answer of -2.5
To verify that you put in -2.5, where the square is and you should get the answer given in the question.
The question after you have filled in the answer, should look like this, -18.5 /2.5 = 7.4.

There you have it question 24 solved.
