Question Number 26

Monday, November 9, 2009
Hello, well here is my late post on question number 26

Four points, A, B, C, and D, have the following coordinates:
A(0.75,0.81)
B(0.75,-0.65)
C(-1.22,-0.65)
D(-1.22,0.81)
what is the area of the quadrilateral ABCD, to the nearest
hundredth of a square unit

Well the picture should look something like this

just click the picture to make it larger

the length and with would be
L=1.97
W=1.46

now for the solving
L x W = A
1.97 x 1.46 = A
A=2.8762

So the area of the rectangle is 2.88 units squared

sorry that my post is so short and sorry if there are any mistakes.

Great job Adrian! You should have outlined your picture it was kind of hard to see. You should have also added colour to it and your numbers too. And how did you get 19.7 and 14.6? You should check your work too because I got a complete different answer. It was kind of confusing when you said the length and the width with out explaining, you should always explain your work so I would know where you went wrong. Great job again!

good job adrian! work on making it a bit longer with a bit more explanations. adding colour in there would also help! For the picture, it was a bit hard to see, but i could make it out. Other than that, good job on the rest!

Hey Adrian! Great job on your post! Your picture is realy hard to see, but when I clicked on it, it looked a bit better. You could have explained more about how you got the answer, and if you can, explain why its length times width, why not.. height times length? And next time, you should add some colours (:
