Class 9-05 (;
Sorry if this is late, in class we talked about multiplying with decimals, and dividing with decimals. Is there a pattern, is there a rule? Why does math have to be so cruel? Just kidding, here's what we found out!

For example : (x)(x.x) = ???

Backe told us to think of a rule for this, and we came up with this :
Aleiah's rule : " When multiplying with decimals, how ever many decimal places are in the factors will be in the product " It was good, but it could be better.

So then wonderful Nicky shared his rule, " When multiplying with decimals , the sum of the decimal places in the factor will be in the product." This simply you add the decimal places, and it will be in the product! So for example 2.2 x 2.2 will be something x.xx, see how i added the 2 decimal places ?

Now on to division...
For division there isn't really a rule for dividing. You can never really know how much place holders there are going to be. After we went side-track and we talked about this !

So now you know! After we talked about subtracting and adding decimals for a bit. Heres how you do it !

HOMEWORK : Foldables the section X, and ÷
Page 57, 58, 59 Show You Know, and Check Your Understanding
Practise: Page 60, #4 or 5, 6 or 7, 8, 9, 10 , 11
Don't forget, we have a test on Thursday!!
I pick Tracey S for Scribe! I CHOOSE YOU
Please comment ! We all learn from mistakes, thanks a lot ! :)
- Thanks Backe for correcting me, much appreciated ! I couldn't really see the board.

Liem, good job. Your first adding multiple decimals example ends up looking like we are about to multiply. Put in an addition sign...8.7(-5.7) should read 8.7 + (-5.7)Also your rule should read the sum of the decimal places in the factors... Two other little boo-boo's oddend should be addend and the word is subtrahend

Hello! Great post here! Your colour coordination is great and your pictures are nice and bold. I noticed that you used the same example for adding and subtracting decimals. I think an interesting way of helping people understand these things would be to maybe put in a few captions here and there just to remind people the steps in case they need reminding. Also, you could make up your own example without the answer so that people can try it out for themselves and you could put the correct answer farther below. This could improve help out students who don't fully understand this. A lot of times in your writing you had a habit of putting spaces between quotation marks or commas, or periods. This nasty habit can really distract from the main point so you should really try fix that. Your sentencing structure also needs work. When you talked about homework and the test, you should also talk about what we need to know for the test, or perhaps tips on how we can study. A video or link would be nice for your scribe post as well. Wonderful work, Liem! Great job!

Great post Liem! I liked that you used a variety of colours, and lots of examples, which is always helpful! You had some mistakes, but as I can see, they have been pointed out already, so I'm not going to bother repeating them. Anyways, good job!

Very nice scribe Liem... I can't really do a Nicky comment for you (you can blame my computer not working on Monday for that) but I do have some comments nonetheless. Firstly, I must applaude you for calling me the "Wonderful" Nicky. Secondly, I must applaud your pokemon-esque comment (I choose you...I had to notice it... Yeah... I'm nerdy). And lastly, I will say unto you, keep up the good work!
